Cruise the haut Sambre

After the Hautmont weekend most boats headed back down the Sambre to their home bases so we decided to go up the Sambre for a week or so staying in Pont-Sur-Sambre and Berlaimont. The summer was in full bloom despite it not being great weather. We saw 4 Kingfishers, countless coots and moorhens and this one terrapin sunbathing on a log as we steamed by. The kingfishers were all too fast for our reactions with this camera so maybe we will try again in the future with a better camera or faster reactions.

Tillt needed a wee

On the way back Tilly needed a wee so had to get ashore

We waited for Marpent lock for an hour over lunch, moored to the guide rails leading up to it. Tilly needed a wee so had to endure another undignified carry ashore and back. She doesn't seem to mind and climbs onto my shoulders once she realises what's going on.
